Some of these are real head-scratchers. Since nobody can ACTUALLY jump off a Zeppelin onto Custer’s troops escaping the tzar’s agents, I had to think about it.

Lexy: Giant Octopus
June 10, 2011 by Donna Barr
I think people think I’m illustrating fantasy. “This would be so sexy.” No, not in reality. Especially, as requested, it starts near the face.
Going for Japanese print colors. Lotsa Manga blood.

Evelyn: Train of Thought
April 4, 2011 by Donna Barr
I’m keeping these just as anonymous as possible. There are a couple of train deaths in the book so far. The most common fear so far is drowning, in one form or another.
I didn’t know if I wanted to continue this project, but Kevin Bose of The Virgin Project was really excited and helpful about it. He found a bunch of the contributors. But while people in America seem to treat sex seriously, they’re often quite flippant about death, probably from fear. You’ll be able to spot the silly ones — they have nasty consequences.
No, I’m not going to illustrate fantastical imaginary deaths. None of you, no matter how much you might want it, is going to get killed during World War One falling off a Zeppelin. But that does make me wonder what the guy who submitted it is actually afraid of, and covering for. Fear of heights, perhaps?
Mine has already been illustrated, but you’ll just have to guess which one of these it is.
I’m also going to have fun with quick colored versions of these. Here’s the first:
